Every Voice Speaks: Buckley at 40
Before there was Citizens United, there was Buckley v. Valeo — the “original sin” of campaign finance. Adam Lioz of Demos comes back to discuss Buckley’s legacy, including a very narrow definition of corruption and the idea that political spending is a form of speech. He also talks about how we need new legal arguments to fight corruption and inject political equality at the heart of constitutional arguments.
